Little is known of his early boyhood days. He was in the war of 1812. Moved to the state of Georgia about 1820 and settled in the woods. About twelve miles south of where Atlanta, Fulton Co Ga. is now and engaged in farming until his death. Four sons served in the Confederate army. Two sons-in-laws and three of his own sons were killed or died in service, and both sons-in-laws were killed in action. John Walden was killed at the battle of Gettysburg, July 8th 1862. Demp Creel was killed at the battle of Atlanta 1864, and Tom Johnson was killed near Chattanooga, Tenn. May 14th, 1864. 1861. Dan Walden was wounded at the battle of the wilderness in Virginia, Feb. 27th, 1863, shot in the head and never got over it. Frank Walden killed at the battle of Chickmauga, Ga. Tom Walden was killed at the battle of Atlanta, Ga., June 22, 1864. miles south of Atlanta, Ga. people. His wife was Elizabeth Hill.
